here’s a look at what people like you and me are saying about Don in the wide world of the netweb
+ David Yonke writes in the Toledo Blade of Scot McKnight’s lecture on conversion, given last week at Winebrenner Theological Seminary. In the article, Yonke quotes McKnight as saying “I like to talk about Brian McLaren, Rob Bell, because these students like them. They like them and that’s good enough for me. I want to find out what’s making them tick. They read [Donald Miller's book] Blue Like Jazz, I read Blue Like Jazz. I didn’t think it was all that good of a book, but they think it’s awesome.”
+ Matt Wilson, from Manchester, UK, writes that his recent reading of Brian McLaren’s “Everything Must Change” led him to the “…sad and scary reality that I am part of the everything and I must change.” He compared this epiphany to one that Don detailed in Blue Like Jazz.
+ On Matthew James’ blog he talks about the Lord’s Prayer and he recounts something he once heard Don say (or perhaps something he read that Don wrote). “Miller said that the Lord’s Prayer is about ushering in a whole new relationship between us and God: He is our Father! This is exciting, heady stuff.”
+ In this blog post on community, Patrick Conti echoes what Don said in Blue Like Jazz that our souls need community like our bodies need food and water. He says, ” I’m learning to expose my need for people and flat out ask for friendships. I’m learning to initiate community.”
+ John makes a list of the people with blogs that he’d like to meet, and Don Miller shows up at #2. (Rounding off the list at #7, yours truly, but only because I was able to get my picture taken with some nice hardware recently at Fenway park.)
+ Last but not least, in a blog post titled “Four Days to Go”, actor/writer Susan Isaacs talks about being encouraged by the message Don gave at Mars Hill last year on “Story”. Susan is finishing up a book called “Angry Conversations with God” that will be a must-have whenever it hits bookstore shelves (2008 hopefully?) Have i mentioned that Susan has appeared in an episode of Seinfeld? And lots of other stuff too.

Bryan, I like reading your blog, I like your opinions and outlook on things (both here and on your blog). Albeit silly, the fact that you got to stand with the hardware is only the latest reason that you made the list.

you ROCK, Bryan! The book comes out in March 2009. so we must hold our breath.
Oh I loved that, “I am part of the everything and I must change.” I bought that for my husband, and we’re going to read it after we finish NT Wright’s “The Challenge of Jesus,” and Bryan Allain’s “Prayers for Blowouts.”
