first off, thanks to everyone for voting in the poll. Don found the results very interesting, and even voted in the poll himself (and he left a comment).

On to the new information I’ve uncovered regarding the 2008 release of Let Story Guide You. Here’s 7 more bits of info:

1. Let Story Guide You will be shipping from the publisher in the second week of January, which means that it should find its way onto your bookstore’s shelves in late January-slash-early February.
2. The book will be available for pre-order from Amazon.com in September, and should probably ship from Amazon to you in mid-January if you order through them.
3. Despite early internet rumors, there are no pictures in the book of Don wearing a yellow crushed velvet robe, riding a carousel, and smoking a Marlboro Red.
4. Physically, the book will be about the same size as Blue Like Jazz is (only it will be in hardcover, of course).
5. The book will “retail” for $19.99, meaning you’ll pay no more than $16 for your copy online or in a bookstore. Depending on where you get it, you might be able to find it cheaper.
6. There will be an audio book version of Let Story Guide You…and yes, Don will be the one reading it…and no, he won’t be reading it in his best Sean Connery impression.
7. The cover art for the book was done by a friend of Don’s. I’ve seen it, and I like it. I’ll share it here as soon as i get permission from Dick Cheney.

I’m pretty sure that Don’s deadline for submitting the book is in the next week or two, so here’s to hoping he’s as satisfied as a writer can possibly be with the finished product that he turns in.
