Thank you to those who attended the fundraiser last night for the Belmont Foundation. And thank you to the many artists who donated their work. We had a terrific time and are blessed and grateful for your donations. Thank you, also, to those who responded to our recent newsletter by donating to the foundation. Keep us in your prayers as we move forward and provide mentors for young men growing up without fathers. You can learn more about the Belmont Foundation at www.belmontfoundation.org

Last year I wrote a foreword for a wonderful book by my friend Angela Thomas called “My Single Mom Life” and I’m glad it is now available. If you’re a single mom and are looking for some company and encouragement, Angela is a terrific source of honesty and hope. And humor, for that matter. You can learn more about Angela at www.angelathomas.com
And thanks for doing what you are doing. I agree with many who believe being a single mother is the hardest job in the world. You are terrific and brave and courageous. When the kids grow up (and you regain your sanity) they will adore you. I hope you find some rest in God today. You aren’t alone.

Hi Don… I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking a moment to chat with me at the fundraiser, and for letting me take the John McMurray print from your living room wall!
It is now hanging, honored in my hallway. I was so happy to be a part of what you have started, and so grateful a man is finally stepping up to support those without that of a father. I hope I can do more to be involved down here in Grants Pass. I also wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed hearing your working chapter, and look forward to attending another reading when LSGY comes out. It will certainly be a good reason to come up to my favorite city. Thanks again, Don. Hope to meet you again soon. (PS- I hope you enjoy my small collection of poetry.)

Hi Don. My husband and I have been helped so much by BLJ and your other books. He was in Iraq for a long time recently, and we both struggled with how hard that was, and who God was in it for us. We have been Christians for a long time, and have been through some very negative experiences with the Church and with other Christians, and it was a healing thing to read about your experiences.
Thank you for your honesty, Eileen P.

Thank you Don,
Your words of encouragement made me cry. I am a single mother of two little boys. The challenge of raising them overwhelms me at times. I haven’t been a single mother for very long, and there are days that I do not know how I will survive. I am so glad you are moving forward with the Belmont foundation. I pray that God will bless your efforts.
