Ariele Gentiles has written a wonderful tribute to her father on BurnsideWritersCollective.com. Blue Like Jazz was dedicated to David and he is everything Ariele paints him to be. If you want to read an exceptionally well-written piece about an exceptional person, simply follow the link below. And thank you Ariele.

I heard you speak at Willow Creek, South Barrington, IL and went out the next day and bought “Blue Like Jazz”. I just finished it and wanted to let you know how inspirational it was for me. I recently separated from my husband of 30 years after finding out about a 5 year affair he was involved in. I have been in a really dark place as I struggle to come to terms with this life change and help my 3 young adult children do the same. I think the one idea your book provided me with is this journey that we call life is filled with challenges that are sometimes so difficult. The more spiritual we are the easier the challenges since we know we never walk alone. Since experiencing this brokenness I have been working on my relationship with Jesus and pray that I will be where I want to be very soon. Peace be with you. Cindy
