October 2nd.

The threatened lives of 2.5 million people doesn’t seem to be a bigger story than congressional perversion or Woodward’s accusations of Presidential incompetnecy but nevertheless, tensions in the Congo go on as usual. Please visit www.savedarfur.com today to lear what we can do, including a fast on October 5th. The true work of the church will never be captured on television, but the web is helping us mobilize.

I can’t think of something that is more worthwhile than putting our time and resources into something like this. Although I think you meant “Sudan” and not “Congo” ?

That’s tomorrow! I should have checked back here sooner. I’ve had supper already, so it’s too late to do the normal 36hr fast, but I’ll fast Thursday’s 3 meals for sure. I was considering fasting tomorrow anyway before reading this, and your post has now motivated me to follow through. God bless!

Here is a link to a compelling documentary about this crisis.

Eek. I totally missed the news about the fast. I can fast a week later, I guess. Good thing that God exists outside of space and time! :)

hi i think that something should definetly be done about this. so many innocent people are dying and no one seems like they care. donating a hundred dollars from school donations is good. but is that really helping. we need to talk about it and write about. money is nothing if we don’t know if got to Darfur. if we pitch in and help maybe we can change the issues that the people go through

It is horrible and unspeakable. When things happen around the globe that are unspeakable - - - that’s when we should be speaking the most! we should be screaming about it AND acting upon it! There are a great many high school students that would love to help if they knew what would help. Let’s know!
I first became interested in this plight when I lives in the virgin Islands. We talked about it a great deal last year.
We all need to keep talking.
    Hopeful, Khacki Greene
