?? best place in portland ??

Published by bryan | Filed under Don Answers your ???s

don,

first, let me say that i find it exhausting to capitalize letters, so i try not to do it whenever possibe, and secondly, i wanted to say thank you, (i do have a question, but i will get to that in a minute).but first, a story:

i grew up in church, very much like you did, and did not seem to find any sort of passion. i saw so many people loving God, and had no idea why except to say that it was the right thing to do. To make a very long story tollerably short, several months after reading, “blue like jazz”, i crammed everything i could into my stupid neon, and moved to portland without knowing a soul, from the other side of the country. it has been an adventure, and i have found a hunger and love for God i never thought possible. i found a loving, accepting community of Christ - followers that continue to bless me daily, and have now seen what i believe to be the most beautiful place on earth. God has used your passion for Him and through that touched so many lives! Thank you for being real and genuine, and for having a significant place in my search for God knows what……………… and now my question:

In your opinion, where is the best PLACE in portland?

tara

Tara,

The best place in Portland? Here’s an odd answer, but I think this you will be pleased if you ever find it. The best place in Portland is at the top of the Freemont Bridge. You can drive across the bridge anytime, of course, but the best way to experience that place is on a specific Sunday in August during the Portland Bridge Pedal. The Bridge Pedal is when about 20,000 cyclist show up very early on a sunday morning to ride across all of the downtown bridges. The ride is about 30 miles or so, and all the bridges are closed down so cyclist can ride across them. You can actually stop up on the Freemont to listen to bands or just hang out and look down over the city. Very worth it. Hope you get to experience it…

    Hey Don,

I heard that you were working on a paraphrase of the Bible. I was just wondering if that was true or not. That would be awesome if you were. I would definately buy one!
