have a great holiday

Published by bryan | Filed under site news

hey everyone, Bryan here. Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable long weekend. We’ll be back next week with some more interaction between Don and the fans as we have lots of good questions and answers lined up for you. I hope y’all are enjoying the site as much as Don and I are enjoying getting this content into your hands.

also be on the lookout for a couple of surveys we are going to be bringing to you in the second half of ‘06. We’ll be surveying y’all to find out a little bit more about the people who make up the DMF contingent. We’ll also be giving Don a survey to fill out to find out a little bit more about him, and I’ll need your help to come up with questions. So start thinking of some good ones, and i’ll let you know when and how to get them to me.

Don’t play with fireworks, I’d like you all to come back with all 10 fingers if possible!

ps…if you’re a fan of Derek Webb (who did a joint chat with Don a few months ago), Andrew Peterson, or Andrew Osenga you might want to check out a few new websites that are live now. Squarepegalliance.com, where you can hear music and read bios of all the square pegs, and squarepegalliance.net (which i help run), where you can keep up on all the latest news.

    Hello Don,
I met you when you signed your book, Through Painted Deserts, for me at Branches. I also went to the Jars concert up in Vancouver and heard you speak before they came on. I asked you when you were signing my book, how to go about getting published, to which you replied, “get an agent!”. I had been getting my masters degree in writing with an emphasis in book publishing at PSU. I graduated last month–Thank you, God for getting me through it!!! During my second year of study, I got published three times and was fortunate to have my stories read as far away as MN. Long story, but boy was that exciting to find out!

So here’s the question: Since reading Through Painting Deserts I have had an incredible ache in my heart. I want to write a screenplay for you based on this story. I am skilled at screenwriting, and would like to see this awesome story turn into something for the screen, or possibly a stage play. I don’t want to come off like I want to capitalize on your story, I don’t. In fact, I am not interested in material things or money…I am interested in getting this story to other people through a different form. I am blessed with a God-given talent of writing as a form of communication to others, as you are. I would love to speak to you further regarding this and sincerely hope that you would at least consider it, pray about it perhaps, and be willing to talk to me further about this a possibility.

Also, brother, keep doing what you do. God knows your heart better than anyone else here on planet earth. We mere mortals are just that–human. Forgiveness is the most powerful thing you could ever do. For the record, I would be honored to dine with you at your table any day of the week and twice on Sunday! :) Happy Fourth of July and I hope to hear from you!

Basking in the Love of Him Always,
    Jill
