?? Irresistible Revolution ??
Published by bryan | Filed under Don Answers your ???s
Donald,
Thank you so much for your books. My husband and I pastor a church in Seattle’s Wallingford/University area and are excited by the challenges to our faith/life and many discussion topics that both BLJ and Searching…have brought about. We are starting a weekly book study and discussion group and BLJ is the first book we are going to read together. We’re going to call it “The Underground†it just sounds cool.
Just a few questions…1) Are you planning any trips to Seattle to speak? 2)Have you read “Irresistible Revolution†by Shane Claiborne? This, along with your books, has really challenged and convicted me in regards to the ideas of living in community (I must admit, the most apealing part to me of living in community, at least at first glance, is the free babysitting!
, caring for our brothers and sisters in poverty and really reading the words of Jesus. 3)Is the “cussing pastor†you reference in BLJ pastor Mark from Mars Hill in Ballard?? Not really a serious question, just something my husband and I were trying to figure out…but I am curious.
Thanks again!
Christa,
No plans to come to Seattle officially, save a mid-April kayak excursion around Lake Union and Lake Washington with my friend Kaitie. Other than that, no plans. As for Shane’s book, I’ve read bits of the manuscript, and enjoyed Shane’s perspectives immensely. He’s a wonderful human being and does wonderful things. When my schedule slows, I intend to sit in a quiet place and read his thoughts…as for Mark Driscoll, yes I was talking about Mark, though I regret referring to him as “the cussing pastor.” He was and is so much more. Mark is a great thinker, and a heartfelt man who loves God. Another pastor in Seattle I appreciate is Richard Dahlstrom at Bethany. Some great churches and great pastors up there….
Don
