?? Romeo and Juliet clip ??
Published by bryan | Filed under Don Answers your ???s
Don, About a year ago you spoke at my church’s D-Now and you showed us a video from Romeo and Juliet with Derek Webb playing Wedding Dress in the background. Whenever I talk to people about Searching For God Knows What I want to show them your video but you took it off the website so I was wondering if you could repost it. By the way Shane Claiborne is speaking at our D-Now this year so your title of most controversial speaker to ever set foot in our church might get stolen, sorry about that.
DREW
Drew,
i loved talking to you guys, and remember the event fondly. as for the clip from romeo, we put it up for a while, and had Derek Webb’s permission, but i wasnt sure about the movie clip, what was legal and what wasn’t, so we took it down and have decided not to re-post it. very sorry about that. it is a great clip, and it continues to be amazing to me how well derek’s song “wedding dress” fits that clip. as for shane clairborne, i’ve not met him but i hear he is a wonderful guy and look forward to meeting him some day. that is a unique youth group, and one of my favorites. all the best, drew.

Shane is pretty amazing. He has a book coming out soon. I remember when he was at my church’s GenX ministry called Axis. I was not there that weekend, but at the end of the service he challenged everybody to take off their shoes and give them to the poor. It was pretty sweet. I saw pictures. People right there took their shoes off and went bare and sock foot the rest of the night.

Drew,
Do you remember what the clip was from the movie? I’d be interested in fitting the clip and song together myself to see how it flows.
